about Shann

Hey!

I’m Shannon — Gosh, where do I begin… writing about yourself is tough! I am a big environmental nerd and I have a huge obsession with indoor plants. They’re what keep me sane. I have been working towards my Bachelor degree in Environmental Science and have become more and more concerned about the major global issues we are facing today, such as global warming and climate change. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t studying these topics, because it’s almost better not knowing the truth but my goal is to help save the planet, so you’ll see almost every post I share is related to being more eco conscious. I have not only become more aware of these things from school but I have recently had a HUGE life changing event happen and this is the main reason for such a positive lifestyle change.

On December 18, 2018 I became a first time mom. This was not only the best thing to ever happen to me, but it was also a huge life changer! Now having my daughter, Cora, I am even more eco conscious and focused on living a more ethical and sustainable lifestyle than ever before. This blog consists of topics such as:

  • Sustainable living

  • Going zero waste

  • Eco-friendly baby essentials

  • Plant-based recipes and diet recommendations

  • Environmental education

  • Indoor plant care

  • Outdoor tips + adventures

What made me want to start blogging?

I have always enjoyed writing, but I never thought I was good at it. I tried starting this blog in 2016 but because I was my worst critic I talked myself out of it. It wasn’t until recently, with the fantastic support from my boyfriend, close friends, and co-workers, that I decided to go for it again. So, here I am!

My intentions with my blog are to share my passion for saving the planet, one person at a time. I hope to teach you the importance of being more eco-friendly, more aware of your health and how important it is to take care of yourself. I also plan to teach you ways to find your green thumb, so you can grow your own garden and love your plants just as much as I do!

I hope I can inspire you and you learn a thing or two on here.
